Kristen Anne Bell is an American singer and actress born in the year 1980. Her birthplace and childhood was in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) and is a nurse as well as Tom Bell, a television news director. Her heritage includes Polish (mother) and German, English, Irish, and Scottish (father). Kristen's talents for performing were found at a young age. In 1992, she was awarded her first role at her audition in Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell's mother established her with an agent before she was 13, and she was cast in newspaper advertisements and television commercials. Along with taking private lessons, she began her acting career at that time. Bell made an appearance as a guest in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998, as an uncredited actress. Bell was part of the drama and music clubs of Shrine Catholic High School. The Wizard of Oz production at the high school she attended earned her the leading Dorothy part. Bell was then transferred in New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She was a musical theatre student at the Tisch School of the Arts. Bell was a graduate in 2001, resigned her college studies in order to take on in the role of Becky as Becky in Tom Sawyer. In the same year, she had her first credit debut as Pootie Tang. Pootie Tang (2001), however her character was deleted and her character was not shown in the credit sequence. The year 2002 saw her first major role. Bell was as a character in The Crucible, a Broadway revival of The Crucible with Liam Neeson as well as Angela Bettis.
